Every human person in the world is born with a covering over their organs, muscles and blood vessels and this is commonly known as skin.
Hence the reason why skin is the biggest organ in the human body! It also amounts to about 1/6th of your overall body weight.
The colour and texture of skin varies from person to person with no person having the same.
Also day to day living affects the texture and colour of your skin.
Skin can also be used as a predictor on age and lifestyle so it is important that your skin is nurtured and looked after.
The main function of the skin is as a barrier to infection and also to protect the major organs from damage and it helps to regulate your bodies temperature.
Skin itself is made up of two different layers – the outer dermis which you can see and the inner dermis which you can’t unless you injure yourself.
Both work in different ways.
