Skin diseases

Skin diseases are often occupational hazards for a few unfortunate individuals. Contact dermatitis is often induced through contact with chemicals, biological and physical agents in the work environment. Frequent skin exposure to these agents can cause Irritant Contact Dermatitis which reduces the protective barrier of the skin and enables the irritant to enter and cause further skin inflammation. Allergic Contact Dermatitis differs in the physiological impact on the body from ICD. It sensitizes the immune system, making it react to the allergen with every future contact with it, making it a recurrent and chronic disease unless further steps are taken to completely avoid the allergen in the first place.
